Google Talk

Google Talk (Gtalk) is Google's instant messaging client that uses the XMPP (Jabber) protocol, and is a core supported protocol.
Miranda 0.7 (older than 0.7.8) users will need these OpenSSL libraries to enable SSL connections.
Connecting
Create a Jabber account; select "Goole Talk!" type in account information and fill in your login details. If you can't connect and need to review the settings, they can be found in Options->Network->Jabber (Instead of Jabber, it may be the account name you used when adding the account.)
- Username: Your GMail username, not including the domain (@gmail.com)
- Password: Your GMail password
- Domain/Server:
- Gmail users not linked to any Google email product, enter gmail.com
- Google Mail users, enter gmail.com or googlemail.com (UK, Germany)
- Google Apps users, enter yourdomain.com (the portion of your email address after the @ symbol)
- Use TLS: Unticked
- Use SSL: Ticked
- Port: 5223
- Note, this Port setting below "Login Server".
- If the box is greyed out, remove the check from "Manually specify connection host:" to enable it.
- Manually specify connection host: Ticked
- If the connection fails, try removing the check from "Manually specify connection host"
- Host: talk.google.com
- Port: 5223
- Keep connection alive: Ticked
