Version information

Version information, or VersionInfo, is the name given to the report generated by the Crash Dumper plugin (or alternatively Version Information). The report details the configuration of your computer and Miranda installation. You may be asked to provide this information when looking for help.

Creating the report

1. Download and install the Crash Dumper (ANSI, Unicode) plugin or alternatively the Version Information plugin.
2. With the Version Information plugin, open Miranda and go to Main Menu->Version information. With Crash Dumper, go to Main Menu->Version information->Show.
3. A dialog will open containing your report.
4. Click the Copy text button to copy the output to the clipboard.
   • If you want to post it in the English Miranda Forum:
   1. Choose the correct thread and press Post reply.
   2. Paste the contents of the clipboard into the text area, add some additional text, and press Submit reply.
   • If you want to post it in the bug tracker, save the contents of the clipboard into a text file and attach the file.
   • If you want to post it in an IRC Channel, ICQ Chat or somewhere else, open your web browser and go to pastie.org or pastebin.com.
   1. Paste the contents of the clipboard into the text area and submit it.
   2. Copy the URL that is displayed to you on the site after submitting.
   3. Paste that URL into your IRC channel, ICQ Chat or wherever.

Please use direct paste only in the English Forum!

Tips

• Don't modify the report. It is important for those helping you to have as much information as possible.
• If you are posting the report to a service which doesn't support BB-code parsing (like Bug tracker) disable the Forum style formatting option.
